Here is the ways I think the PS3 can be connected to PC to transfer data:
1) USB cable (PC HD must be formatted to FAT32)– 2.0 specification = ~480 Mbps
2) Wireless using 802.11g router (PC installed with Tversity or Red Kawa) = I hear varying speeds of 3 Mbps to 30 Mbps (not transcoding, just copying file)
3) Wired using 802.11g router (PC installed with Tversity or Red Kawa) = Up to 70 Mbps (not transcoding, just copying file)
I guess my first questions deal with the info I dug up. Does it look correct? I’m just starting to research this stuff. Second, is it possible to use an Ethernet PC to router to PS3 connection without any additional software other than windows(provided HD on PC is FAT32)? Lastly, at times I want to move high quality captured video (several GBs) and would like to stay away from waiting a half hour for a file to transfer. Would the recommendation be to stick to USB transfers?
