but,
i just burned my first VCD;
i think i did it right because when it was over the screen said "cd recorded successfully". (i used Roxio, the latest version).
NOW, i take the VCD and stick it in my CD drive in my other computer and .. nothing happens. I stick it in my DVD player, and nothing happens. Being that i'm used to Motion CDs and DVDs which Load by themselves, i'm expecting for something to happen... does this not happen with a VCD?? so, what am i supposed to do to make the "movie" plaY? am i supposed to hunt it down and find it myself?
if this is the case with all VCDs, forget it. What about people who are not computer savy and don't know where to look or what to do?
i would think they would just give up, like i'm about to unless there is a simple explanation to all of this.
thanks in advance.

DVD - write on the VCD disc "Press play key after inserting"
PC - if you have a software DVD player program make sure the detect disc option is turned on. If the PC does not have a DVD player program then look in the FAQ about making an autorun CD. You can have a pseudo VCD by authoring a VCD that has an autorun file that plays each mpeg dat file (in the MPEGAV directory) sequentially.

Autoplay on standalone dvd players is all up to the dvd player, some has it but most has not.
To make it autoplay on your computer you include an autorun.inf file and maybe a vcd player. www.vcdhelp.com/autorun.htm
