I'm using Virtualdub and using DIVX-4 low motion; key frame=10; compression control=75-80; data rate= 1000-1250. The result is in several scenes there is alot of pixelization. Also, the frame size is 320x240. The filters are, deinterlace=blend; sharpen= 30. What is the best frame size and compression settings to get the file to look as good as tv?
Thanks in advance,
Jr.

Hi there.
I am still a relative newbe, and i tried using vdub to produce divx clips and was always dissapointed. But i have just started getting my head around nandub, infact after messing around with clips i took the plunge and converted a whole 90min capture from digital cable, and i am so proud of it, very clear and macroblocks only appear if you look for them i.e. freze frame fast moving scenes, then not always. My data rate was around the low 800's, but because nandub is a 2 pas vbr encoder you getsuperb results!
Goto http://www.doom9.org/ and download Gordianknot, this is a package of different software (including nandub) easily set up for dvd ripping. Follow the guides and see the forum.
The only reason i don't use the whole of gordianknot (just the nandub part) is that i am primarily into compressing avi captures, and gordianknot is aimed at dvd ripping.
p.s. it's quite complicated though, so be warned! -
Thanks droolian01. I used it last night and was amazed at the difference between the two!
