After I installed Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro I can no longer view (only sound) AVCHD files in Picture Motion Browser. I get a black screen. Was working perfectly prior.
Also, in Vegas the editing preview screen is not smooth footage (jumpy)...but was perfect in PMB before it took a dive.
Running Dell 8400 3.6Ghz 1 Gb RAM 320GB HD, Nvidia geforce 6800 GTO 256MB (Driver V3)
Are there conflicts with the two programs??

Hi Jaysun,
Hope you don't mind me asking but I just purchased Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro and it says that 1001 Sound Effects comes with it. I absolutely cannot find them. I've checked all the manuals and tried everything. Could you tell me how to access them?
About your problem... There was few problems with this original release, especially if you are running Vista 64 or something like that. Go to www.sonycreativesoftware.com and try downloading the patch for your version of Vegas. I was going to but its 103 MB and I'm on dialup and haven't had any problems yet. Burned around 4 DVD's now and they are fine. Still learning though. If you could point me in the right direction on those .wav sound effects I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Thanks for your response. I ended up adjusting the hardware acceleration in the control panel settings and fixed my problem. Simple as that!
Yeah, unfortunatley the sound effects are there...but they are effects which you place on imported audio files to modify them ie. NOT drum rolls and canned laughter etc. That caught me out too!
I did a search "sound effects" on the net and found a few sites. You can download wav or mp3 and get individual sounds to suit your needs...and then you can add the 1001 effects to them like reverb etc. I am relatively new to this and am also still finding my feet. -
Thanks. I actually found the answer to my question when I searched on the Sony site. Here's where those sound effects are found.. ...Good grief, you'd think this info would at least have been somewhere in the quick start manuals....

How do I install 1,001 Sound Effects onto my computer?
Answer
Place the Application disc that you received from your purchase in your computer disc drive. When the Setup screen appears, select "Browse Disc". In the window that opens, navigate into the Content folder. Then right click on the folder that says 1,001 Sound FX. Choose Copy. Now go to your My Documents folder (or a folder on your computer where you would like to store the sound files) and Paste (Right-click > Paste or Edit > Paste).
I've found that these sound effects, like the explosions and sword swipes, can really spice up a transition of pictures or movie clips.. I love it!!! Thanks again. -
I have just copied them over to my hard drive.
Great find...Thanks for that!
You have saved me from many unneccessary downloads.
