Aside from possible legal implications of doing this, what you need is a TV tuner (preferably digital) on a card to put in your PC. This will record directly to your HDD, and form there you can convert to your heart's content. You do not want to try to capture from your television set.

VirtualDub Logo Remover Filter works with static opaque logo's
Before-------------------------------------------------------------------After
Even though it removes the logo, you sometimes end up with a blury spot where the logo once was, but this is exceptable in most cases -

Thanks guys , this is really the best site for video stuff
thanks again guys -
I can never understand why people feel the need to upload television shows for everyone else. Most stations stream their shows for free, so you don't have to risk copyright infringement and all the penalties associated with it.
I guess it's the same with any uploaders. Why do they feel the need to "share' the latest DVD releases, software and music? -
Supreme2k , for me i want upload this scene in youtube , like you see must of the stuff in youtube taking from TV television . like funny stuff and news parts ,

@sat-jokar -- Unless the copyright laws are radically different in your country than in most places, if it comes from a TV show, even local news, it is not likely to be in the public domain, and somone other than you owns the rights to the video.
As I understand YouTube's rules, if you don't own the rights to a YouTube sumbmission, and have not obtained permission to use it, it can be removed without your consent. Those who repeatedly upload material that they don't own the rights to can have their account terminated. Obviously, lots of people get away with doing it, but you can't count on being one of them. -
In other words, just about everything is copywritten
all that stuff on youtube is slowly being removed -
yes but youtube care about English and US stuff , what about none English stuff ? as far as i know all US hosting company's don't care about none English stuff , lets see archive.org for example ,
they will remove the content only if there is Complaining , -
