I have recorded HD TV file in .ts format. I can use VLC to play and select the subtitle track on screen. the subtitles track is similar to DVD's (i.e. image, idx/sub format).

I need to convert it to mp4 h264/aac and DVD format. ConvertXDVD seems OK to do DVD with subtitles. However, i cannot find a software to convert to MP4. would you please suggest me a way to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance.

Handbrake maybe? As you will learn, the problem with Macs is that EVERYTHING is written for Windows. I'm no Windows fan either (I work as a Unix System Administrator), but the fact is that if you want to work with video and audio, Windows has the most and best tools. On Macs you usually have 1 or 2 choices at most and if they don't do what you want, you're out of luck. The most hardcore Mac fanboy that I know admitted to me that sometimes he uses Windows in a virtual machine on his Mac because there are just some things that have to be done under Windows.

i tried HandBrake. it cannot take the subtitle track from .ts file. it seems that it works for DVD subtitles only.
