    Hello,

This seems to be an intermintant problem with some videos playing fine and others having a 'jerky' / 'stop motion' playback with white 'bars' / 'boxes' running down the right 1/4 of the screen.

When I attempted a screen capture, the white bars do not show up. Only during playback.

This happens in Media Player Classic and VLC.

This PC is an old Dell and is maxed out on upgrades.

    996 MHz CPU
    512 MB Ram
    320 GB HD

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One cause of the jerkiness could be that your pc and graphics card are not up to the job. If you are trying to play a 1280x720 mkv video with that pc spec then forget it! It will be jerky and probably come to a halt periodically. The frame capture may work OK as the pcu/graphics load is temporarily slowed during capture (as play grinds to a halt). I've no idea what the boxes and bars are but they could be associated with pc performance.
