What exactly is your problem? Please explain fully, because from your post I have no idea what's wrong. All I know is that you get no video, but when? During capture? During playback? During MPEG Encoding? What motherboard are you using? Operating system?

Hope I can help you when you repost.

What is your start off file? An mpeg file? An Avi or DiVx file? Nero has only a limited encoder built in for avi files to make a VCD. What are you trying to make a VCD?

I presume you downloaded this avi file off the net and it's a DivX file. Have you been able to view the file on your system at all? Or are you just having problems encoding it?

And did get off the net so to speak...

OK - you have the correct codecs installed as you were able to view the video in the windows media player. Lets now narrow the problem down further:

You tried encoding the file in TMPGEnc. Did you download and install the VFAPI-Plugin for TMPGEnc correctly?

  10. if it always stops at the same place, you probably just have a corrupted frame from a crappy divx download. just cut it out first.

I've had same kinda problems when I use AVI's captured with dc10+ (hardware codec). It seems TMPGenc don't like those AVI's. So the Mpeg is completely black (no video) but sound is there.

I think you got to do the same thrick as I did to solve this. Using VDub, I 'recompress' the final AVI into a software codec (NOT divx, but some like 'Intel Indeo', 'PIC MjPEG' and/or 'Hufjuv'). Then TMPGenc 'like' the avi's and I got a good MPeG.
You should try this.. I'm sure it will work.

If you've problems with out of sync audio, then encode audio seperatly and mux it later together with the demuxed video stream...
