I know Audacity lets you change the tempo of an MP3, but is there a way to find out what the tempo actually is?

You might take a look at this Audacity page as they seem to have some ideas how to find the beat or tempo of a track: http://n2.nabble.com/-Audacity-help--Beat-Corrector-td273399.html
Audacity has a 'Beat Finder' under 'Analyze>Time>Beat Finder', but I never found it too useful.
