I have been trying for ever to rip a dvd to my hard drive so I could watch it latter, I have tried every program that I can find pay for or not. I have even bought a video in card and tried to record dvd's. No matter what I do the download will always ether be messed up with the movie playing certain parts over and over or the sound and the video will not be in sinc, the movie will be faster or slower than the sound. Any ideas or suggestions would be a great help.

Is it a commercial DVD? If DVDFab HD Decrypter won't work, there may be a problem with the DVD. Or if it's a very new DVD, it might take a week or two to for the Decrypter people to solve the encryption for your backup.

With a few DVDs, there is a short lead in and if you remove that while ripping, the sync will be messed up.

The rest of what you mention sound like part of the encryption system. You may have to run the rip through some other programs to delete some 'garbage' parts that were added to confuse decryption. Maybe PgcEdit

And I am assuming you own this disc.

I do own the disk, I can record TV and when I play it back the sound is off, I have tried many DVD programs and it always is the same. Even some other movies that I download legally will have the same problem the sound will not be right with the movie, some times it starts out right then it will fad off.

Does this only happen on your computer? Have you tried playing the same file on a different computer? Do any videos play in-sync on your computer?

Had this problem myself- High School Musical 2.

DVDDecrypter combined with RipIt4Me worked in the end.

Tried this combo- including the dead cell removal and VOB cleanup?

Also, when you rip, including with DVDFab 5, try ripping with the 'Main Movie' option as opposed to the whole disc. This has made a difference to me in the past.
