I need to send out a DVD player to my gran in Poland from England. I understand that discs are region blocked but are DVD players too? I have looked in the instruction manual and found nothing on the region of this DVD player, does that mean its unrestricted?

If disc's have region coding on them but players don't... then whats the point of having the disc's region coded
If the player is not going to enforce the region coding on disc's, what is ??

Maybe the voltage might be diff. but i don't know what they use in poland or what kind of electrical outlets they use there.

Not knowing exactly what brand and model OR having the instruction manual, your "guess" is as good as anyone's!!

Odd's are you just missed it or they fubbed on the manual.
Usually standalones have a logo somewhere on them, usually the back, or the box, or the manual.

Did you search in the "DVD Hacks" section to see if their were any region hacks for it ??
    Whatever it is ??

If the electrical problem is solved, sure.

Now will it play dvd's from this "other" region, again, your guess is as good as anyone else.

Now you are in the U.K. and you want to send it to poland ?

I know you are PAL format, what format is Poland ??
I'm going to assume Poland is NOT NTSC ?

I know you are Region 2 but what region is Poland ??

Do some googling and see what you can find out.

I am in the UK and want to send the player to Poland.

I just verified with my cousin (from Poland) they use PAL and Region 2 so it will work, thanks for all your help guys.
