  1. I have a server running Windows server 2003. It passes the updates to a number of client machines on our network. One of the machines refuses to install a particular update, .net 3.5 service pack. The update just hangs at the beginning of the install. I've tried reinstalling all of the .net updates and still get the same result. I've tried the manual update, same thing. The machine is just used for printing labels, so that update is irrelevant. Is there a way to block a particular update to the machine, either from the server or the client?
This plan is so bad, it must be one of ours.

And you've tried "hiding" this update ?
AutoPatcher has fixed a .net update problem for me before.

It may not apply in your situation, but if you run update from that machine and then uncheck the update you don't want installed, it will stop trying to install it.
