  1. Hi I'm currently using a Mac and I want to make copys of my dvds. I've been looking at DVD Remaster to accomplish this task. Is this a good program or does anybody have any other recommendations? Thanks

There are some other programs, with fewer features. But if you just want to burn (no authoring, no conversion, no nuthin' but burning), there's DragonBurn. It's much less expensive than Toast (because it does less), and often is bundled as an OEM burner with Mac drives.

There probably are others, but I'm not aware of a completely free burning tool on the Mac. If you can boot/run Windows, then you can, of course, make use of any number of additional options from the Windows world.

  5. right now im trying out dvdremaster. it is an all in one tool and costs 40.00. So far so good. So far it is working like dvdfab for windows. That might be the way to go.

  8. In some ways Toast reminds me of Windows. There certainly was a time when there were few free/cheaper alternatives and it is certainly good at what it does; it was pretty much standard advice to buy it and IMO it's still trading on a perceived necessity that no longer really exists. As a bundle of functions it represents good value but I'd guess the majority of users will never or only very rarely use those features for which no decent free alternative obtains.
