  1. Hello,

I don't know if this is the right section to ask this, but i'd like to understand what is the best way to follow, i have some mkv files that i'd like to play on my Multimedia Drive, that is the Iomega Screenplay HD so it should be able to support both 720 and 1080p video thru HDMI

Problem is that it doesn't support mkv so i think i need to do a conversion, but i'd like to do it without quality loss, i read on the internet and seems like i have 3 choices: convert to AVI, DVD or DivX, but DivX and DVD are with quality loss, what about avi? It won't play because the video source is encoded with an HD codec too?

Anyone has ever tried this or can help me

    Thanks a lot
    Max

It doesn't support hd video sources(it can just upscale to 720 and 1080) so you must reconvert to sd and you will lose qualiy then. Reconvert using for example xvid4psp and convert to avi xvid.

(if your mkv source is hd then....)

  3. Hello,

Thanks a lot for your help, i'll have to live with that and lose quality then, just one question

Since my HD Multimedia drive is capable of playing both xvid, divx and DVD, what do you suggest to convert to?

I have no space problem since i'll put the files directly on the HD, i just care about the best quality and lose as less as possible
