hey guys,
first of all, please accept my apologies if i'm asking a question that has already been answered a zillion times here..it's just that i'm still confused.it's such a simple task but i could use some tips...
i have DVD that i would like to convert into a video with 1280x720 resolution,h.264,AC3 and then put it into a mkv container..any software that could do this all without having to download any other supplementary tools, etc??
basically the kind of HD video from a DVD...
thanks alot..cheers everyone![]()

avidemux can do that and doesn't require any supplementary tools...or well if you want to rip from commercials movies you must either use anydvd or dvdfab decrypter.
But why upconvert to 1280x720? You wont get any better image... -
Maybe XviD4PSP or FairUse Wizard, but I wouldn't change the framesize to 1280x720 as you will just reduce the quality even further. You can't make HD out of a SD quality file.
