Ok here's an off the wall question -

Do Mario and Link have last names?????

I'm actually being serious here for a moment. I just wonder do any Nintendo charcters have last names???

I guess for Sega Sonic techincally does unless Hedgehog is more descriptive than a real last name

Also exactly which Mario game did Princess Toadstool become Princess Peach???????
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

From Wikipedia - so it may not be true

    Quote:
Mario first appeared in the arcade game Donkey Kong as a carpenter whose name was "Jumpman"[4] according to Nintendo of America. In Japan, he was known as "Mr. Video Game". Since the Japanese name was not properly communicated to the American branch, Nintendo of America named him "Mario", after Mario Segale, who closely resembled the character. Segale was the landlord of Nintendo of America's office,[5] and once barged in on a meeting to demand an overdue rent payment.

    Her name is Peach Toadstool.
Mario's last name could be Jumpman or Game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario#Conception_and_creation
Link is from a simpler time when people only had one word names. :P

    Also from Wikipedia:

Ever since his first game, Mario usually has the role of saving the damsel in distress. Originally, he had to rescue his girlfriend Pauline in Donkey Kong from the clutches of Donkey Kong. Pauline did not last long as a character and was soon replaced by new damsel-in-distress, Princess Peach, in Super Mario Bros. (she was initially referred to as "Princess Toadstool" or simply "the Princess" in English-speaking territories until 1993, when Yoshi's Safari debuted, even though the name was not widely used until Super Mario 64 was released three years later).

  6. Isn't Mario's last name Mario?
As in Mario Mario & Luigi Mario: The Mario Bros!

I got this info from the Super Mario Bros (1993) live action movie.
