I have a Panasonic Mini DV Tape Camcorder and I would like to transfer some tapes to DVD that I can playback on my Bose Lifestyle 48. The camcorder has a firewire connector. The laptop has a firewire connector, Windows Movie Maker and Windows Media Player, but does not currently have a DVD burner as it only writes to CD but will play DVD’s if I get a DVD decoder.
I also have a Samsung Sky HD box and would like to copy some programmes from the planner to DVD. I do not currently have a DVD recorder. The Sky box is connected to the TV via HDMI and the audio for satellite box is optical via the Bose.
Is there a DVD recorder/burner that will do both of the above jobs for me
If possible I would like to know the quickest way of getting from DV tape to DVD, without using different conversion and editing applications as I believe these can be time consuming and use up a lot of disc space on the laptop ?
In an ideal world I would like to buy one piece of DVD recording/burning hardware that I can plug my camcorder and Sky box into and create DVD’s that can be played back on the Bose – but I suspect it won’t be this simple..
Thanks you for taking the time to read this and any advice appreciated.
