I'm running iMovie 6.0.3 with OS 10.5.4, and here's the problem I've been having:
After filming a series of home movies on DV, and transferring them all to iMovie, I end up with a fairly large file of 30-40 GB. Then, after substantially trimming the length of the movies and emptying the trash within the application, the file remains at its original size.
I've tried transferring the edited clips to a new document and deleting the old one, but it still reads the clips as being much larger than they actually are, so that the new file ends up being just as large as the original.
Is there any command or procedure in iMovie that will let me correct this problem? It becomes frustrating when I begin to lose hard drive space unnecessarily.
Thanks.
