  1. my 5990 HDMI was working @1080p with my LCD properly for a few weeks. Just now the HDMI connection starting showing a orangish color instead of the original blue/grey color. I tried the following:

    1. the YPbPr connection is normal at 480p
    2. the HDMI cable is normal, I use my computer to connect and it shows all the color normally on the LCD
    3. I tried flashing the firmware again, no luck.

could it be the problem with the HDMI port on the player itself? any other thing I can try?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Unfortunately, that may be the problem. There was another post here with the same problem a while back. May be a defect that surfaces with the player on occasion. If the warranty is still in affect, probably trade it in.

But HDMI negotiation is problematic at times. If your cable and your display works properly, then the 5990 HDMI port may have died.

Or others may have some ideas.

    And welcome to our forums.
