I use GB-PVR with my Hauppauge PVR-350 card instead of WinTV so I can have a searchable TV schedule(my wife's idea actually but I like it too). I use mc2xml.exe to get the EPG.....now here is where it gets fuzzy for me. I don't completely understand how the EPG portion of all of this works. I just downloaded the stuff, placed it where it was supposed to go inside the GB-PVR program folders and it all works.....for the most part.
The only problem is....where I live....the programs or plugins to get an EPG are not very accurate. I have too many dead channel listings that I would like to get rid of. Can anyone direct me to a plain english guide on how to clean up unwanted channels showing up in the EPG? I think I've seen some instructions but the terminology I'm seeing doesn't match what I am looking at....and I'm not even certain where and how the channels are obtained.
I'm guessing the extra, unwanted channels are coming from wherever mc2xml.exe gets them from and I need to instruct it to NOT retrieve those channels? I'm not sure.
Anyone have any suggestions?
