TigerDirect in Canada has the Seagate Barracuda 1.5gb drives on sale for $159. But Tom's Hardware has a report there is a problem with these drives freezing....
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/seagate-barracuda-1-5TB-freezing,6582.html
I've also read elsewhere on the net that is why Seagate has them on sale. However Seagate is supposed to have a firmware upgrade that resolves the problem but I'm thinking the hassle may warrant getting a WD or Maxtor or Hitachi 1.5gb...
But damn, the Seagates sure are priced low...
Any thoughts?
TIA

i'd stick to w.d. 1tb caviar black edition drives. 5 year warranty and you won't need it.

At least it wasn't a data loss issue. Just a delay.
