    Hi,

    I want to do some splitting/joining with AVI files containing DV streams.
    I tried to use VirtualDub, but that tool seems to do recompression of the data.
    Are there other freeware tools that do not recompress when splitting/joining AVI files?

    Set VirtualDub to Direct stream copy (under Video tub)
    and it will not recompress

    make sure to do the same for the audio w/direct stream copy
