    Hi All,

I am new here and like to say hello to everybody on this site.

Well my problem is that I have an external HDD hooked up to my desktop. I have a movie folder that contains all my downloaded movies. I was able to watch all my movies using a WD media player live networked through my wireless router without any issue up to 3 ays ago. When I went to play a movie I started getting a notice on the right side of the TV screen this movie can only be watched by down loading Dom media player, this happens for any movie I try to play.

I have scanned using Malware Bytes for any harmful adware. It seems that the bug is in the WD media player itself. Ican play all the movies out of my external hard drive on my computer and am fine.

I need help on how to rid myself of this bug is the Dom player host sitting launched in the media player or on my computer. Any help is appreciated.

    Xceltic.

  2. This is the first I've heard of anything like this on the WDTV. The WDTV is saying you need Dom-X media player? Are you using a media server or regular network share?

    Hello,

Just a regular network share, I found this very strange myself the fact that I can watch these movies on my desktop with no issues, that the external hdd is hooked up to. Would factory rest of the WD media player help correct this ?

    Cheers.

I will try this once I get home. Other than that would you have any other options I could use if that does not work?

  6. Try putting some of the files on a USB thumb drive if you have one. Or try connecting the external drive directly to the WDTV if it's USB. Check the files with MediaInfo or GSpot. Anything unusual?
