i've read great reviews on the advc-55. i'm looking to use one for about 6-10 hours of work. can't find one under $200.
can anyone recommend a viable and less expensive alternative? i'm looking for something that will capture video, uncompressed, and will allow me to edit the end product with the software of my choice (avid, adobe, final cut..etc).
...or, do you have a used advc-55 you'd like to sell?
thank you!

Buy a used ADVC from eBay and sell it back for about same money. These 2002-2004 products have held value amazingly well.
If you are in a big city, these come up on Craigslist for much lower than eBay prices. People don't understand what they have. I have 10's of uses for my ADVC-100. Its been a great investment.
Alternative is the ADS PYRO A/V Link
