    Hi to all!!

I have a XSVCD movie file which I want to burn on CD and play on my DVD/(S)VCD-Player.
My problem is, that the DVD-Player didn't do anything with the CD.
    What I'm doing wrong??

    Some additional information:

Movie properties: (Source: Property page of MPEG Mediator)
    Stream:
    Type: MPEG-2 Program Stream
    Size: 705124840 bytes

    Video:
    Type: MPEG-2
    Resolution: 704 x 576
    Framerate: 25fps
    Aspect Ratio: 4:3

    Audio:
    Type: MPEG
    Channels: 2 (Stereo)
    Samplerate: 44100Hz
    Resolution: 16bit

That's XSVCD for me, isn't it?
    -----------------------------------------------------

    Burning Software:
    Nero 5.5.6.4

    Player:
    Silva Schneider DVD 5500S
I know, that Silva Schneider is a low cost player. But he was working fine ... until now.

I tested the player with the testfiles which are available for download from this site. The player had NO problem with the SVCD, XSVCD Test-CD's. I could view all of the testfiles.

I already read the doku about 'burning X(S)VCD's' from this site and THEN burned the CD. But it didn't worked.

Thx in advance for your help!

    Dr.Pepper

PS: Please excuse my bad english .....

  2. If your player works with the test files try playing with the settings under the compatability options.

hmmmm ....... well, I was thinking too about this.
    But there is another problem.
I couldn't get the 'format-information' (size, fps, CQ or VBR, ...) of the test Mpeg's.
TMPEGEnc (2.02) tells me, that the mpeg is no mpeg!
The "MPEG Mediator" tells me the same.

I think, that I use the wrong programs.
    Anyone knows anything better?

    TIA & Cu

  4. How are you trying to burn your MPEG file? You said you're using Nero, so I assume you're using Neros SVCD template. Did you select PAL (vs. NTSC based on teh 720x576 and 25fps I assume you want PAL).

You might want to try running VCDImager, and then burning the bin/cue file.

    Thx to all of You.

I 'fixed' the problem. It was the NERO configuration which was wrong
And the configuration was wrong because of the Nero-SVCD burnning doku which I found @ vcdhelp. It lead me a little bit in the wrong direction, but with the demo files for SVCD & XSVCD from vcdhelp I found the right NERO settings.

Anyway .... thx alot for Your help .... this forum ist REALLY active!!!
