I have the proverbial closet full of family videos from various sources. After various attempts at using windows and Mac systems, I have decided the fastest surest way to get DVD's is with a dedicated recorder (Panasonic EZ48). Now I just want to do minimal editing - adding one or more titles with chapter breaks and menus, no transitions or special effects, no deleting scenes. Is TDA the only tool that will allow me to do this without re-encoding? Is the consumer oriented software mature enough to make this effort worthwhile? I would define worthwhile in the range of about 2 hrs desk time max for the simple projects describes, assuming I already have a dvd. Additional time while the computer runs unattended is okay. The final product would be played on regular set top (?) dvd players and tvs.
Reviews of various products, including TDA, report glitches.

Maybe DVDRemake Pro would be another option. Click on it for guides and comments.
