Windows cd

My dad threw away the original windows cd. and recently my computer user profile got corrupted. I need to know how to make a bootable windows cd that has the drivers necessary for using the internet right away.

So long as you have an i386 folder on your hard drive, you're in business...maybe.

Mind you, I haven't tried it so I dunno. But I think I will try it sometime this month on my wife's old computer, so as to avoid the goddamn crapware when re-installing from recovery discs.

ms has released the xp iso with sp3 slipstreamed. here is one place to get it.

Of course it is LEGIT, why wouldn't? Whats the difference if you download the disc image off the web or borrow it from one of your friends?
As last as he uses his own serial number ("product key") it is completely legitimate.

Microsoft always sell you *licence to use Windows* not the Windows, so its the licence (the serial number) is what you've paid for.

As long as you have a legit key for winxp you can use a d/l copy for your version.Just make sure its oem or retail or a special edition that matches your type of install or it wont accept the key if doing a re-install.

Well, you can use a bootable Knoppix CD and go online a lot faster than with any Windows CD.

Ubuntu is free, boot the cd as demo and everything is there ready to go.
