  1. I have question that I was wondering about. I have a program that will convert the wav file extracted from an avi to an mp2(besweet gui) and one that will convert it to an ac3 file(tmpgenc soundplayer). Are either of these 2 formats better than the other when it comes to my receiver converting them to pro logic? I know neither format nor pro logic sounds as good as surround sound but sometimes pro logic can sound decent and I have been wondering if I should be creating the dvd using an mp2 sound file or the ac3 sound file. Keep in mind that the source audio is not ac3.

If you are starting with a 2 channel mix then it won't make any difference which one you use, as your amp will do the same to either. AC3 is more universally playable in DVD players, but otherwise there won't be any great difference.

That said, you might try DaudioK or one of the other converters that will give you 5.1 output from a 2 channel mix. It is a pseudo-surround mix, not true 5.1, but it may be better than what your amp produces.
