Curious if anyone has been able to use Nero Vision 5 to create an AVCHD Bluray image onto a DVDR (4.5gb) or DVDRW or DVD+DL for that matter; i have tried various methods, each time the player refuses to play the disc giving an error, though it works on powerdvd. Other people claim success with other BD players though.

    Thanks for any info.

Not all Blu-Ray players are capable of AVCHD playback. The Blu-Ray player must state that this is a function it supports. It is not a standard that it must be supported.

Having said that I have no idea if the model in question claims such support or not.

    Check the manual *shrugs*

It works fine using images made from Pinnacle or DVD Architect.. I've also tried "bluray" images from Nero, which dont seem to work.. while bluray images from other programs work fine.

But others have reported success with Nero Vision in general.. I'm hoping to find a user of this player.

Well that doesn't surprise me as NERO has shown in the past that it can suck and suck hard for burning standard DVD Video so ...

    Have you tried ImgBurn ?

Also this might help ---> https://forum.videohelp.com/topic352982.html

I have imgburn, was actually going to give that a shot.. not sure which settings to set..

    ie:

For file system.. just "UDF"? (Not UDF +ISOxxx)?
Any other checkboxes on this options tab?

    Label name required i'm assuming?

Under advanced.. any media settings needed?
For Single layer it has DVD+R/RW and dual is DVD+R DL

Any other settings on any other tabs useful? Someone mentioned setting it as DVDROM, but i dont see this for some reason.. (is it the Restrictions tab.. udf tab, "DVD Video- allow unicode volume name"?

That other link you listed could come in handy if i ever have mkv files though.

    Thanks

I haven't actually tried it myself ... I just know that ImgBurn can do this from things I've read and since it is the best DVD Video burning program I have a feeling it is the way to go for your needs.

I think I saw a guide for this somewhere ...

    P.S.
Be sure you have the newest version of ImgBurn as a new build came out within the last day or two.

Well i tried every setting known to mankind with IMGBurn.. nothing did the trick for AVCHD produced from Nero..

However, i discovered that using Nero and doing Bluray.. MPEG2.. to folder.. this worked.. directly to disc or using imgburn of that harddisk image.

So at this point it seems at least with my player, it just doesnt like Nero AVCHD (though now powerdvd does play if i set it to interlaced mode).
