The DVD you make will be region free (unless you specifically choose otherwise), but you need to make sure that you make an NTSC-DVD, I believe that you use the PAL system in Singapore.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Most PAL players can play NTSC material without issue, although very old players might have problems. Depending on how your player is configured, you might get jerkiness. It should be set to output the native signal - PAL for PAL, NTSC for NTSC - assuming your TV accepts both. If not, you may have to output PAL or PAL60 for NTSC, which can be jerky to watch.

Many newer NTSC players (read 2 years old or less) can play PAL discs, but the % is still not great, and with older players it is very low.

hmm, how do i set to output the native signal? i don't see any settings on my TV/DVD Player that allows me to change these settings.

okay. I reckon the people over there are using mostly old players, cos' the receiving age group is 60s and beyond..

are there other issues to take note other than the PAL/NTSC issue? I'm really afraid it wouldn't work after the work is sent there.

It varies from player to player, so you will have to consult your manual(s). On some it is a menu option, on others it is a combination of key presses at the right time (for instance, I have one player where you have to hold down the right key while ejecting the empty tray to change the output format).

There is no right combination that will guarantee you a universally playable disc, short of professional mastering and pressing.
