I noticed something that might be useful to those of you creating VCD's using a Terapin or any other realtime VCD capture device. I have a Philips Magnavox VCR that has the ability to sharpen, smooth and enhance the video image from the VHS tape. When creating the VCD I use the smoothing technique and it makes the video look real nice with less artifacts, and yet doesn't blur the image. It works something like Tmpgenc's blurring feature ( only in real time).
I noticed that some newer VCR's are equip with similar features and will enhance the video quality of the VHS tape.
There is one thing I want to ask, if anyone nows a low cost video enhancement device that will be able to do what the VCR does? The reason I need this is because I want more control over the degree of enhancement. The VCR has a preprogrammed setting that works fine most of the time, I prefer more control.
I already have a Sima video correction device and it sucks... It blurs the picture and makes lots of noise in the video, if anyone knows of a video enhancement device that does this please let me know.
Thanks in advance
