  1. I'm using SUPER to convert some files to .mp4 for my smartphone. Can SUPER increase the audio level / volume by say 150%?

    no.

also SUPER borders on the crapware line...

    decompress audio to lossles wav
    import into an audio editor.

YES super can increase audio, i do this all the time

right hand side , options other,

new window opens, click the check box 'adjust encode volume' and set your increase, by adjusting the slider

its marked in db's, 3 db is doubling of sound energy on a sound meter,

10 db is sensed by the human ear as a doubling of sound level

    try a increase between 6 & 10 db

I find that Super works very well for portable video for phones and other devices, it is not my primary choice for avi to DVD conversion, but its great for converting to mp4 or 3g2 etc.

    i said i missed a setting,
    not fell asleep...

if it were mp3, one could try lossless gain.

    yeah video,
still my general policy, if you;re to really mess with the audio,
pull it out and mess with it.

NOT asleep ? you recommended converting to wav audio

wav audio has nothing to do with mp4 video ,

you can use wav audio in wmv for a zune or PC or maybe his smartphone, but he didn't say PPC/PDA , the ones most likely to play a WMV file
