  1. I have the mpeg-2 codec many different dvd software players, but the file that is burned to the cd will not play. this is the file name on the cd (Avseq01.mpg). any ideas?

    p.s.

I also got the same results when burning bin/cue with fireburner to cd.

    This happend to me to.

I have a real dvd player and it wont work while the test svcd / bin from this site worked fine.

I burned mine with fireburner and also tested the tracks for corruption with fireburner.

this file Avseq01.mpg is also on the burned cd and it wont play in win media player by dragging it into the player. It just sits there and reads the cd.

Will post back if find answer.

  3. Hmm? So you're saying you can't play your SVCD on your PC or in your standalone. But that the test/demo clip from this site worked? That's really odd.

How did you encode the MPEG file. Do you still have it? If so can you play it in media player (ie. before you burnt it).

  4. i burned a copy to my cd burner using fireburner bin/cue and also burned a copy that i decoded (if thats the right word) to my hard drive that played fine on my pc before i burned a copy to cd. the copy that is still on my harddrive play's fine, but the copy i burned from the decoded mpg with nero to cd as an svcd won't play with any of the svcd or dvd players i have on my pc. Avseq01.mpg that is on the cd won't play. the movie's by the way were monsters inc and atlantis.

to further complicate issues, i burned the with nero as vcd's from the decoded copies on my hard drive. i got the standard non compliance message from nero and told it to burn anyway instead of converting, and both movies play fine on my software dvd player. :o

I cannot even play the mpeg file on my computer. Maybe it just wont work with win media player.

I even extracted using iso buster and win media player just says it needs to downoload a codec. but it fails to do so when trying.

My bin is a lotr svcd dvd rip. 1 of 4

  6. If your mpeg-2 file won't play on your PC, I can't help you there. If it plays well on your PC, but won't play on your DVD player, it might be that the bitrate of your mpeg-2 sream exceeds 2600kb and your standalone can't handle it. Try to lower the bitrate of your mpeg-2 and see if it works.
