I want to rip a DVD so that I can use a clip in Pinnacle Studio for my home movie. What's the best way to do it??

DVDFab HD Decrypter to get it to your HDD. If you can't import the VOBs, use VOB2MPG to get an mpeg file.

I think you can use "E.M. Free DVD Copy"
