How do you perform a wrap around an object or actor?

I would like to know how do you get a wrap around an actor or object done. I was watching "Out of Time" when Denzel drove to his mistress house and the camera was like on the outside of the car when he was driving and as he stop the car the camera did a swing shot. It looked like if it was one camera doing it. While the camera swing, denzel was still performing.

Is this done with a crane, if i have my terms right? If so can it be done any other way?

Mostly done with a crane or boom, sometimes with a steadicam. Sometimes they remove the windows from the car so they can move the camera through them, then replace them digitally afterwards to produce a physically impossible shot.
