Hello, my first post, but I've read the forums alot - and learned a lot.
    .
Recently I started having problems with my codecs/filters and used both GSpot and CodecTweak to clean up the mess.
Even so, GSpot reports 206 codecs/filters...

I can play an H264 file in an MKV container using MPlayer, but the same demuxed file won't (VLC will because it doesn't uses an external codec/filter).
The H264 entry was defective and removed by CodecTweak.

Graphedt shows I'm using the ffdshow codec from CCCP to play the MKV file.

How may I recreate the H264 entry?

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Hmm codec packs...

The only "codecs" you should need for MKV/H264 (and just about anything else) are the Haali Media Splitter and ffdshow.

Just make sure decoding for the codecs concerned is enabled in ffdshow's decoder settings.

    Yes, they are enabled.

Somehow Media Player Classic, Zoom Player and GSpot don't know how to decode H264 if it's not inside an mkv container.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the CCCP pack to no avail.
