    I'm new to pc games , but im sick and tired of a lot of them asking me to use my keyboard all the time. Just like a console i just wanna sit back, and play my game with the joystick, or controller. Is there any software out there i can use, to allow my games that do make me do this, run off of my controller instead...any help would be appreciated...

    I got an Xbox 360 controller, and it works great for most of my games. It gives you the same feel as if you're playing a console.

    Each game is different. For war games like Medal of Honor with tons of options you simply won't be able to have enough buttons on a controller to get the same responsiveness.

    That said it is really a game specific endeavor. Some games are better for controllers than others. If you get the "games for windows" games then an xbox 360 controller is the best option. Those are now customized for the 360 controller. You can either get the corded usb model or get a wireless usb dongle and you can use the wireless 360 controller.

    The 360 controller works great on the pc version of BIOSHOCK.

    Usually pc games that offer gamepad support have their own customization screen. Just go into options or settings and select your controller. Than you can assign whatever actions you want to each button.

    You might also want to go to each individual games website. Check the support or faq page. Usually they should have some basic info on how to configure controllers.

    What kind of gamepad are you using? Some have their own configuration panel you can use.

    Did you get the cd that came with it? Maybe there is software also on it. Otherwise you'll just have to configure each game independently in the game itself. That is all I can offer.

    Most of the games that you mentioned are also on PS2, which is exactly what your controllers resemble. You should have no trouble porting the control scheme over to the PC controllers. As a matter of fact, I run a PSX emulator with the same controller (almost exactly), and I have a couple of the same games for the PC. The controls are identical.

    With the 360 controller, the PC version of Halo plays exactly like the console.
    You can find control layouts like these all over the web (especially on that site)
    The difference is:
    4 = square
    1 = triangle
    3 = X
    2 = circle

    Here's another cool button layout site:
