  1. Hey Guys,

I'm currently working for a production studio, as their IT Manager/Half arse video editor.

so I'm no expert in this ..no where near being an expert on any of this so I seek some help.

I've been editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 then Exporting to AVI.

Then Creating Menus in Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 And Burning using the "Build DVD image" option they have to build Master DVD images. (This is to keep soft copies of all our DVDs)

Then using Nero to burn Master Disks at 1.0x on Taiyo Yuden DVDs.

Now to Duplicate the DVDs for sale we use 3 1: 7 ILY Athena Burners, and 2 1:11 VinPower (CopySharks..I think..) DVD Burners.

Which brings me to a question: The DVD burners have 2 Options, Compare and Verify.. Which one should be used?
    ..or should both be used?

Once the DVDs are duplicated we use PF-3 Printers to Print them out in stacks of 50-100. Then they are packaged in DVD Cases with the envelopes inside to protect from scratches.

Now, The problem that's been haunting us is that many of our customers recieve the DVDs and they run into jerky audio, choppy play back, or no playback. Another wierd thing that's been happening is that masters that used to work perfecly fine, are experiencing Choppy play back. There are no scratches on the disks, they were also burned using Taiyo Yudens..

I'm not sure if its a problem on our side, so if you guys can tell me anything that I"m doing wrong, or anything I should be doing. that would be of much help.

If I didn't clarify things, or you are in need of more info, please let me know,

    best regards,
    -AK

P.s Please excuse the lame screen name, I think I made it back when I was in middle school.

That's probably your problem right there. Nero is not the best burning program. Everyone here pretty much uses Imgburn. Also, you shouldn't be burning those TY's at 1x speed. You should be burning them at their rated burning speed which is probably 8x or 16x.
