The size of those RARs and PARs + ??

sorry for the poor subject title

it sees the total size added up of RARs varies .

I made a 25MB series of RARs for a 250 MG clip and only got 3 RARs: two of 25 MB and one of 4MB

it unRARed fine

usually the RARs add up to about the size of the clip

why is this?

What you describe is impossible. The size of the RARs must exceed (there's a little padding I think) the actual size of what you put into it. It's simply not possible to have a 250 MB file and end up with 2 RARs of 25 MB and one of 4 MB. Something is incorrect - you have the original file size wrong or the RAR sizes wrong or it did not really and truly unRAR correctly and you merely think it did.

well not really impossible. winrar uses a compression algorithm that could squish a file that small if it was mostly padded with 0's.

However, this is the first time this has happend:

The QT file says: WMV 8, WMV audio 9 251 MB

get info says the same thing for the file size

the RARs are as noted

decompresses to the same
