Spurned husband shoots himself on live TV

A spurned husband shot himself in the mouth before live cameras in the crowded hallway of a television station in the Argentine capital on Wednesday.

The man, in his 40s, was taken to a hospital where he was reported to be in a grave condition.

For more than two hours, the man, identified as Victor Hugo, sat in a chair holding the gun to his mouth, weeping and pleading for his wife of 10 years to return after leaving him a week ago for a taxi driver.

"If I don't have her, I cannot live," he said as a psychiatrist and two friends tried to calm him.

As the drama unfolded, carried live by the Cronica television channel, Mr Hugo was given a mobile phone and told his wife was on the line.

"I don't know that woman, she told me to kill myself," he said after hanging up

Ya know I love my wife, but I'll be damned if I take my life if she left me. Oh and if she told me to go ahead and kill myself on the phone, you bet I'd stay alive, just to get some payback in. I mean you can't get revenge if your dead. Life is to short as it is, why make it that much shorter because of someone that obviously doesn't care about you anyway. Be true to yourself. Damn I hate reading about pathetic people like this that have become so dependent on someone else that not to have them means death. Though I did find one comment pretty funny from the story

That's a hell of a way to put it.
I realize we all have are weak moments but Damn, at least when I thought about killing myself it was because I thought my whole life was fucked up. Then again maybe she was his only light on this earth and when that burned out so did he.

ah well, guess I should just mark it up to natural selection and move on.
