    Hey

    I've been trawling through forums for a few days now trying to find some guidance in shrinking an MKV file, basically I have several MKV movies in 720p with large file sizes which aren't necessary so I've been looking at converting them into m-HD.
    The problem I'm having is that I'm successfully able to extract the;
    .ac3 audio file,
    .h264 video file,
    .srt subtitle file

    The audio was easily re-encoded to a smaller file size but the video I can't seem to find any software or information on resizing .h264 files, so basically my question is am I on the right track or have i gone about this the wrong way? I still want this to be a .MKV file in the end but with a much smaller file size, any information would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Hmm...
    Avisynth script with DGAVCDec > recompress used meGUI, VirtualDub, Avidemux (import used Avisynth Proxy), ...
    Or...
    Put .h264 to MP4 container (used Yamb (MP4Box)) > recompress used Avidemux, ...
