  1. I have an avi that I want to turn into DVD using TMPGEnc DVD Author 3. I have the subtitle file (srt or sub) and input the subtitle file in TMPGEnc DVD Author 3, ( and shows 1 subtitle stream present) but I cannot get the subtitles to appear, not in the TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 software player or in the TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 final output. The subtitles play fine when using Media Player Classic with the avi and the subtitles file. Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?

  2. PROBLEM SOLVED.!!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! FOR ALL YOU POOR GEEKY GEEKS OUT THERE THAT ARE USING TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 ver 3.0.8.158, I was able to solve the problem with TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 not accepting the subtitles.
    The problem is that the first 2 subtitles of my srt file (that I got from a subtitle database) had the credits to the subtitle maker. I didn't want these credits appearing in my DVD, so I just deleted the words (and allowed the time code to remain) on those 2 subtitles. HOWEVER, APPARENTLY TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 DID NOT LIKE THAT. I SOLVED THE PROBLEM BY JUST ADDING A DUMMY LETTER (in this case "g") TO THE FIRST 2 SUBTITLES (see below) AND THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. NOW TMPGEnc DVD Author ALLOWED ME TO ADD THE SUBTITLE FILE ( AND ALL THE SUBTITLES APPEAR IN THE SOFTWARE AND SIMULATION MODE).

    1
    00:00:04,000 --> 00:00:12,000
    g

    2
    00:00:12,000 --> 00:00:16,800
    g
