    Hi,

*I know that this sort of question has been asked many times but I believe my question is unique. Details below.

I am in need of a 22''-24'' LCD monitor I can connect my PS2 to somehow. I already know of VGA boxes and TV tuners but I cannot use either (just leave it at that please, don't ask why).

I also know that it would be easier to just get an LCD TV but I cannot get a TV either becase I only have about $350 (CAD) to spend and there is one other problem that is out of my control.

So...I cannot use a VGA box (horrible quality anyways) or a TV tuner, and I cannot just get an LCD TV.

I have done some searching and I found only one monitor that has AV inputs, and it can be found here:

I have heard some monitors have s-video inputs as well, which I think I can use to connect my PS2 (sorry, I know hardly anything about video hardware). I searched for "s-video" on the same site (futureshop) and all I get is some cables.

How can I tell if a monitor has s-video inputs or not? Unfortunately, I cannot go to the store and ask them myself at the moment because I am quite busy. I can't go for another week but I need to find a monitor by Wednesday (April 23). I googled 's-video monitor' and all I get is overpriced 17'' lcd monitors.

Since most monitors have HDMI or DVI inputs though, is there any way to connect them to my PS2 using some sort of converter cables? Or, basically, my question is:

Is there any way to connect my PS2 to an LCD monitor without a VGA box or TV tuner?

Or, does anyone know of a 22'' LCD monitor with some sort of inputs I can directly connect to my PS2?

One more question, which I hope someone here may be able to answer. On the FutureShop site, for every monitor, it has "Digital vs Analog" as one of the features. Some monitors are HDMI and Analog, only HDMI, or {VGA, HDMI, and DVI}. By analog do they mean standard vga or could that mean something I can connect my PS2 to?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

That model does have D-Sub (VGA) and DVI-D in but no analog video inputs according to LG.

This Sansung 192MP is first a computer monitor but does have a TV tuner and analog component inputs. An LCD TV would do a better job.

    oroboro,

Looking at a thread here: http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/39309975/m/568007502831

...it doesn't look like a VGA cable is in your future. Essentially it talks about most PS2 games being interlaced and not progressive. Never heard that one. Only hack is to boot the PS2 to some kind of Linux.

Too bad. You'll miss the good graphics from the PS2...

I've got a 19" Sceptre X9 Gamer that has both composite and s-video inputs. You could look around for one of those.
    Have a good one,

    oroboro,

Actually, I found something over here: http://www.innovation1.com/

Look on the PS2 page and they have an adapter for you. Doesn't work with the slimline though because the memory card slot no longer provides power.
