    the more I look into it , the more I see that She'll[ and my wallet too] will have an e-zier
    time with a new desktop...

    And If so, I will be happy to get your comments for an XP and up to 22" Samsung or LG...for Animation and graphics work [no OC]

    I am very happy with my Quad. Runs 3DS Max and Houdini very nicely. Photoshop is fast where it is multi-threaded (not all plugins are). Vegas renders very quickly.

    Depends on the software as to whether or not the Quadro is the way to go. For most 3D work it will still outdo the 8600, however it will lag for games. In this case I suspect that won't be an issue.

    I would add a second 320 GB drive if she is doing any post work on the animation. Rendering from drive to drive gives a performance boost over working from a single drive.
