My son has an MP3 player with a 2.2 inch screen (diagnonal). It can store up to 3 GP of flash memory.

The player can show videos in the .wmv format (windows media video).

I want to send parts of movies (I own) to the .wmv format. For example I want to send the trench scene in star wars (a new hope).

I am able to convert to .vob using DVDFab. And then I can convert to .mpg using vob2mpg. But the file is to big for the < 1 gig available on the MP3 player.

What I really want to do is to import the .mpg into windows movie maker. I am familiar with that software.

But windows movie maker tells me the vob2mpg file is to big.

Can anyone suggest a tool to only convert certain chapters of a movie into .mpg or .wmv format? I tried rejig a couple of times, but it froze up on me.

I am trying hard to figure this out myself, but new to this. I did a search for this topic before posting.

    Thank you.

You can cut mpgs with mpg2cut2(free) or videoredo($$).

But I would use something else to convert from the dvd directly to wmv like automkv(free) or the dvdfab platinum($$).
