    Hi there,

I captured a musical event on a digital cam that had video capabilities, although the video is ok, the audio is not that good. I do have a much better copy of the audio from another source which is in FLAC format.

    I have two questions here...

    1. What is the best app. to use to convert the .mov file to another format that can be converted to a burnable dvdr or if there is an app that will convert from .mov directly to the dvd files that would be great. I need to accomplish part two first, but since this is "video-help forum", I figured I'd throw the video question first!

    2. This second question might negate the first, because I think I might need to convert the .mov first to .avi and remove the audio and then replace the old audio with the new... but I think I need to convert the FLAC files to ac3 or mp3? I really do not want to compromise the quality of the audio... so if at all possible to replace the bad audio with the good quality FLAC files without using mp3 format would be awesome.

I hope this all makes sense, and if anyone can help me make heads or tails of this... I would greatly appreciate it!

    Cheers!!

Try DVD Flick. It will let you choose an alternate audio source file to use instead of the audio in the source video file, and will read FLAC directly. The only catch is you have to be sure the audio will be in sync before you do this, as you can't adjust it in DVD Flick.

Just add your mov as a title, then click on Edit Title, then the Audio tab. Add the FLAC file, remove the original source audio, and author.

It should solve both of your problems in one go.

G'day guns1inger, I'll have a go at this and see if it does the trick. I really need to listen to the source audio and figure out where I need to edit the audio on the FLAC files... which brings me to another point/question:

Can you recommend a good app. to first of all edit FLAC files, e.g. cutting off the beginning/end of the file? I would then need an app. to join them two files together. I know of other appz. that work for avi/mpg files, but I need a good one for audio to work with these FLAC files. I suppose I can Google this, but I figured since I am on this forum, I can get a great recommendation for an app, from a valued forum member. Thanks in advance, and if you don't have any info, perhaps a recommendation for a place or person might be helpful. Cheers!
