I have been using Subtile Creator for a while. Yesterday, while I was trying to sync up an original SUB to a SRT, S.C. created an empty file I did not want. After exiting S.C. I deleted the file. Upon reopening S.C., the program did not start anymore and I got an error. The error is a general application error, perhaps it is something related to Microsoft to which it wants to send a report.
I thought that S.C. wanted to open the latest file I deleted. I put it back on, but it did not work.
I have tried to unistall/reinstall Subtitle Creator - no good.
I have deleted all S.C. entries in the registry and then reinstalled Subtile Creator - no good.
I have tried to unistall/reinstall MS .Net Framework and then reinstall Subtitle Creator - no good.
My guess is that one of the many system DLL files Subtile Creator needs at start-up got corrupted, but which one?

Has anything like this happened to anybody? Can anybody help me on this?
I installed AVIdeMux and, perhaps for the same reason, it also does not start. I am at dead end.
    I thank you in advance.

I managed to find this which solved my problem:

It can occur sometimes with some buggy srt files. Maybe it's your problem.
To fix it, go to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\ and rename the MRU.txt file to another name. This file holds the list the Most Recently Used files. Then try to start SubtitleCreator again.

However, it is strange that unistalling the application and then reinstalling does not get rid of those files!
Anyway, I am back in business
