Hey guys im new here and bound with questions as expected :P. Recently ive been tinkering with programs that let me link seperate videos together and the like, but have been saddened that i couldnt directly edit the individual videos. What i mean is, I want to be able to open a video file in some program, and be able to add text or images or .gifs or whatnot and save the movie and have them appear when the movie is played. I dont know if its that simple or if theres a program out there that can do that, but this is why im here. Im asking if there is such a program, and if so can u point me out to them? Thank you.

Since you are on WinXP (according to your profile), it sounds like you need something like Windows Movie Maker (part of XP).
It is limited to certain formats of video file but it will do the kind of thing you are describing in a fairly easy way. Other options certainly exist but can be somewhat fiddly or require a certain "programmer" mentality.
So, where do your videos come from - i.e., what format are they? This will determine which options are available to you.John Miller
