My Gamebridge TV used to work fine for recording television and games. except for the sound distrotion that occurs every 3-5 seconds. Now when it records television shows ,the finished video does not run smoothly and it skips like something it runs normaly then the person skips syllibuls in a sentence or word. It used to work about a month ago, now out of the blue it acts up when reording videoes from television.

But it works perfectly for games and watching live television, except with the sound distorting every 3-5 seconds.

    Here's my laptop's stats:

    Windows XP SP2
    AMD turion 64 x2 1.61 GHz
    HD 80 GB
    1GB Ram
    Geforce Go 6150

Please do not refer me to Adaptec (the device manufacturer), they are no help, their website for their device has not been updated for years and the only way to get any service from them is to fork over $199 of my money. (I'm a college student!) I do not know what board or any board on the internet that deals with tv tuners. If is not solved in a week I'll be thing about either use it only for recording video games, putting it away until I get a more powerful computer or junking it.

I've never used the device. It's possible it's just a piece of crap or that your laptop or the connection method simply isn't fast enough to record properly (this could especially be true on a laptop where the HDD speeds are slower).

Open task manager and watch the cpu usage. You are interested in seeing if the cpu load is high. You may also want to disable any other apps/process that are running while you are capturing and seeing if it makes any difference.
