Actually, my current boss isn't too bad. He does tend to micro-manage a bit because he's afraid the people under him will make him look bad...

My old boss was a real nut case, though. He was a Hitler wanna-be who hated everyone and everything. There were numerous complaints, and eventually the company asked him to resign. Then, two years later, his next employer asked him to resign too. Now he's working part-time in a lousy job. The sad part is that people tried to warn him, but he didn't listen. Instead he honestly thought he was the model for all mankind.
I truly hope I don't read about him "going postal" someday.

I have read elsewhere that there are not great differences between
Mr. Operations from "La Femme Nikita" and real-life bosses such as
    William Gates and Steve Jobs...

@ Midzuki: I don't know anything about "Mr. Operations," but if he's one of those goose stepping military wackos who always expect people to say, "Yes sir," "No sir!," "Three bags full sir!," then he can kiss my b_tt. People like that make me puke - even if they're just actors playing a role.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

There's one thing I don't understand about my current boss. He never teaches or tells anyone anything. In fact, he won't contact anyone unless he's really pissed off - even then he'll generally leave a threatening memo: "Don't do ___________ or else!" In our annual employee reviews, he'll say stuff like "I wasn't happy with the way you handled "that situation" eight months ago." Meanwhile, you're not even sure what he's talking about, 'cause you've already forgotten the details.

I guess I'm just expected to be able to read the mind of a person who doesn't like dealing with people.

    that's wrong.
If I **** up, tell me. NOW. Not five months later during my review.
"You've been ******* this up for 5 months." well then, that's YOUR fault because you never said anything to let me know you didn't like my performance!!!!

My current boss is totally worthless. Hot, but worthless. She doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground...
Nice lady, but she's too busy looking for "better" jobs to do the one she has and she doesn't know a ******* thing about my job.
On the plus side, she really can't say I'm not doing my job or that I'm doing it wrong because she has no way of knowing. I'm pretty much guaranteed a good appraisal because I cover her ass a lot.
On the down side, I cover her ass a lot, and if I ever need help/guidance/training on anything I'm up a creek because I sure as hell can't go to her...
